Gerbera Daisy
Beautiful daisy like flowers. Popular as an indoor house plant or for cutting. These plants like bright light. Place near a sunny window. Moderate household temperatures are ideal, as they prefer cooler temperatures. Hardy to 40 degrees F. Water as needed. Keep soil moist but not wet. Do not allow to sit in water.
Rex Begonia
Rex Begonias make a great colorful indoor potted plant with indirect light or as an outdoor plant with filtered conditions. Rex Begonia's prefer mild temps and will freeze. They prefer a well balanced liquid fertilizer such as 20-20-20 and can be allowed to dry out between waterings.
Citronella
These citronella plants are very easy to grow and have a pleasant lemony fragrance that comes from the oils inside of the leaf tissue. This fragrance is similar to the popular citronella candle and is known to repel mosquitoes. The citronella plant likes filtered sun and a well balanced liquid fertilizer such as 20-20-20 and can grow to a mature height of five feet.
Vegetable Varieties
Assorted vegetable varieties include: Green bell pepper, Banana pepper. Zucchini, Eggplant, Squash, assorted Tomato varieties and Cucumber. All of these prefer full sun and perform best in the milder months of the year (October-May). Water well until established and feed with a 20-20-20 liquid fertilizer.
Pillar Geraniums
Pillar Geraniums care requirements are the same as a traditional geranium, they prefer bright light in the cooler months in Florida (November-May). They will freeze but are relatively cold hardy and prefer a liquid feed fertilizer.
Assorted Trellises
Assorted Trellises consist of Red Passion Flower, Jamaican Butterfly Vine, Confederate Jasmine, Mandevilla, Red Shrimp Plant and Mexican Flame Vine. All of these varieties will take full sun and will make a nice show on a large trellis or a fence. A well-balanced fertilizer such as a slow release 13-13-13 is recommended and once these plants are established, they are low maintenance. These will freeze and can be cut back to make a new show the following Spring.
